Left on his own with his books, Little Chandler must face his own shortcomings. Later that night in his house, Little Chandler waits for his wife to come home from the local store—Chandler had forgotten to bring home coffee in his flurry of excitement about Gallaher. Not once in the story does Little Chandler write, but he spends plenty of time imagining fame and indulging in poetic sentiments. While moving across the sky, little cloud leaves the formation, and decides to change his shape into some of the many things he observed from overhead while drifting across the sky. His abuse of his son, his one small moment of freedom, is followed by the natural negative consequences, including remorse. You could tell at once by his traveled air, his well-cut tweed suit and his fearless accent.
And in the third, a boy turns on himself after failing to buy his crush a gift from a traveling market. He looks into her eyes searching for answers to his now confused state of mind. This whole reunion is not going so well. . The main character, Little Cloud, was a good character because he did what he wanted apart from the norm, but he ended up just going back to be like everyone else at the end, so there was no moral to the story, it was mostly educational. They create a storm that destroys the gardens and farms and all the vegetables in them. There is a moment while Chandler holds the 'infant hope' of a poetic career abroad that he 'step s bravely' toward his meeting with Gallaher - who he believes can help further his dreams.
Finally, Joyce tells us some stories of public life in Dublin. His financial standing leads him into a gentle melancholy because he feels that he is able to achieve much more for himself. Dubliners's lucky number thirteen features an overbearing mother who arranges for her daughter to play piano concerts for money and then causes a major scene when the show doesn't go as planned. Chandler is eager to hear these stories, but tries to impress Gallaher with the advantages of getting married and settling down. Red Cloud grew up one of nine children with a respected warrior as a father. Private cloud could be little expensive upfront because companies would have to implement an infrastructure that not only can support your current needs but also your future needs as well.
While he has made the big move to London, which has enabled his career to go places it would never have gone in Dublin, gaining worldliness does not always guarantee tremendous gains in kindness or compassion. Young children may learn how a little cloud could get bigger and bigger, and becomes a giant cloud with the other to make rain fall. Gallaher - who has commented on the 'staleness' of married life and adamantly claimed he has no plans to wed any time soon - declines due to a prior engagement, but gives a half-hearted promise to visit again. Chandler panics and feels guilty that he cannot even calm his own son, and realizes that he cannot leave and desert the people he needs to support Do you believe Little Chandler ever would have had the courage to leave if his wife had not come in when she did? He feels terrible that he was not able to help, and realizes he needs to stay with his family.
As the time of their meeting approaches, Chandler looks out his office window and thinks about life - something that always leaves him a little depressed, since he feels unable to improve his own. It is also at the end of the story that Joyce explores the theme of responsibility. Little Cloud is all about a cloud in the sky and how it transforms itself to look like various animals or objects. Little Cloud is one of Carle's more recent books. The next time Gallagher comes, the men say, and to clinch it, at Chandler's insistence, they have another drink. This book can be used in so many creative and imaginative ways, and also works as a teaching tool for understanding weather, the water cycle, and more.
It is also possible that Joyce is suggesting that to grow or develop as a person, someone has to not only leave Dublin but Ireland too and live the experiences for themselves. After Chandler has shouted at his son, Annie comes into the house and takes the child from him. This proves he's in no way mature enough to handle life outside the familiar, even if he could somehow work up the courage to leave. The idea of resentment is again further explored after Chandler has gone home and is sitting in his front room minding his son. Little Chandler feels the difference between his life and Gallagher's.
Gallagher is not exactly a charming figure, either. I was able to make a self to text connection because using my imagination I saw a crown, and my name is Princess so it was perfect for me. Ignatius Gallaher acts as a character foil for Little Chandler in the story. He anxiously awaits this visit with his old friend Ignatius Gallaher. They find him impressive and one cannot help but admire him. Like other characters in Dubliners, Little Chandler experiences an epiphany that makes him realize he will never change his life.
